The United States Social Forum is powered by the strength of volunteers. We need people to fill all types of tasks. Please see below for the items, shifts and roles you can play. If you have any suggestions for things that you think we might have left out, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

We have various volunteer position that are available on Volunteer Spot. Signing up is easy and our volunteer coordinator(s) will follow up with you.

• Greeters & Ushers
Timeframe: Wednesday June 24th – Sunday June 28th, 9:00am – 9:00pm, 2 hour shifts
Description: Helping to welcome people in their various locations and escort them to desired locations such as the registration table, workshops, PMA’s, cultural events, etc.• Registration Support
• Timeframe: Wednesday June 24th – Sunday June 28th, Noon – 8:00pm, 2 hour shifts
Description: Assist in checking participants in and registering people on site who have yet to register.• Runner / Floater
Timeframe: Wednesday June 24th – Sunday June 28th, 9:00am – 9:00pm, 2 hour shifts
Description: Helping support organizers, facilitators, presenters etc. by supporting the process of getting whatever they need when needed

• Security
• Timeframe: Wednesday June 24th – Sunday June 28th, 9:00am – 9:00pm, 2 hour shifts Description: Helping to secure the facilities on a regular basis as well as equipment and provide security during the march

• Technology Support
• Timeframe: Wednesday June 24th – Sunday June 28th, 9:00am – 9:00pm, 2 hour shifts Description: Helping to secure the technical capacities of the facilities and supporting live streaming during the USSF

• Set up / Clean up
Timeframe: Wednesday June 24th – Sunday June 28th, 9:00am – 9:00pm, 2 hour shifts
Description: In the morning, prepare the various rooms and spaces being used (setting up tables & chairs) and at the end of the day cleaning up trash, re-organize the spaces, and tear down necessary equipment

Photographers /Videographers
Timeframe: Thursday June 24th – Sunday June 28th, 8:00am – 6:00pm, 2 hr shifts
Description:

  • Street Team Members (Flyer distribution)

  • People to distribute flyers in San Jose and the Greater Bay Area
